The updates seemed to install OK. For the sake of curiousity, once it was done updating and said "up to date" , I clicked on the "Update" button again to see if it would come back and say there were no updates available.
It still tries to download some kind of small less than a MB in size file, then came back and displayed the SAME error. So, to further troubleshoot or confuse myself , I went home and grabbed my home laptop which also has the free version of AVG in it. Everything was green like it was all up to date. I clicked on the "Update" button anyway to see what would happen. Again, "a. That was my home machine.
Fairly recent fresh load of Windows. Not infected. Never has been. It "appears" to be up to date with no issues, but it cannot download updates either.
I'm starting to suspect an issue with a file or files currently in the queue on the AVG update server. Or perhaps an issue with the very last update that succeeded?? Hope this information helps.
