I'd like to ask for help with small, but annoying issue. It's not probably related to Uni Xonar, but to general Asus software. Making it short: I have Xonar DX.
The card works flawlessly using both Uni Xonar and standard Asus drivers. Except one thing. Asus Xonar Audio Center always shows me error message about external power not plugged in and then closes. The audio card may not work. Please power off your PC and then connect the power cable onto the card. Power is connected to my Xonar, the card won't work other way. Or I'm wrong and DX can work without external power for example with some options disabled, no headphone amp etc.
Anyway - is there any solution to bypass this annoying message and run Xonar Audio Center? I prefer it over C-Media Audio Panel. I tried to install D1 drivers as well, but they don't change anything. The card works perfectly, but Xonar Audio Center won't start complaining about missing D1 card.

Willy 26 Oct I have the same card as you, and I used both Asus center and C-media control panel on Windows 10 and now on Windows 11 I have Xonar Dx since I think so it has almost 10 years. Never saw that error. It might be your power supply not working correctly or maybe the connector of the card needs to be cleaned I did a full cleanup of the sound card once a year with isopropyl alcohol It it still gives you errors, try another power supply, if it still gives you errors, it might be bricked.

So inspite of the low activity here I am, in my desperation, asking for help here Since a new PC build and windows install I cannot get any sound out of my soundcard.
My headphones HD work fine and are plugged in correctly. Molex power is fine, the soundcard does the typical click on start up and Ive also tried a different molex cable.
Device manager recognizes the soundcard. Driver installation of UNi-Xonarv1. Headphones in Xonar Audio Center is enabled and the program shows dancing bars when I play audio. Default Asus drivers do not work either. Any ideas? Some things you can try based on what you've stated. Disable all other output devices in the sound control panel. This is commonly a problem when you have plugged in a monitor via HDMI, as the associated HDMI audio port such as installed automatically with NVidia drivers, is assumed to be the default over any analog output, regardless of the monitor's actual capabilities or having devices plugged into any analog audio jacks.
If the above does not work, try installing the drivers for the on-board audio. You should find these on your motherboard's manufacturer website. This way you can test if it is an issue with the card, or some other issue, depending on if the on-board audio is able to produce sound, or if you hear silence there as well.
